During her tenure at Afghanistan Planning Directorate (APD), she was mainly involvedin forecasting of custom duty for Import and Export products and assessing the situation of tax revenues in all provinces of Afghanistan.
After four months of extensive work with ADP, she was switched to Medium Taxpayers Office (MTO) as Manager of NGOs Unit where she was responsible for establishing and determining taxpayers’ entities, establishing the new sources of revenues and guiding the technical staff for improved quality work
Due to the passion she had for working in government, she was appointed by H.E Hamid the Ex-president of Islamic republic of Afghanistan as Director of Non-Tax Revenues (NTR) in April 2011 through a competitive recruitment process. During one year of her work as NTR Director, she took several initiatives to improve NTR collection. For instance, she developed a Non-Tax Revenue generation initiative which included actions on a number of ministries and organization to improve overall revenue collection which resulted in estimated increase of Afs3Billion in non-tax revenues for the government.
As a result of her outstanding performance as NTR director, she was proposed to be appointed as Director of Small Tax Payers Office (STO) to the presidential palace by Dr. Zakhilwal, former Minister of Finance. In 2013, she was selected as the Director of STO and hasbeen working in this position for the last two years. During her work as STO director, she has worked on several important projects that have resulted in substantial increase in revenue from the small taxpayers. For instance, she implemented the tax assessment project in all districts of Kabul which resulted into an increase in the number of total taxpayers from 42000 to 100000 which in turn resulted in to an increase of Afs 1 Billion in the total revenue.
In August 2013, based on an open competition among theMoF’sDirectors , she was selected for Ministry of Finance (MoF) funded scholarship to do her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in American University of Afghanistan (AUAF), the first high ranking university in Afghanistan. She received extensive training and exposure to economic concepts, global economic issues, Business and public finance during her Master’s program.
Besides government Ms. Ahmady runs a local NGO’s with the name of Development of Innovative Thinking (DITO) which provides technical support to the university students on employment, entrepreneurship and innovative business ideas
Ms. Amina Ahmadyhas received several appreciation letters from different organizations for her excellent services for Afghan people. The latest one she received was a First Grade Appreciation Letter from Afghan President Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani which was given to her for her outstanding services to the Afghan Business Community and Craft Unionsand for her achievements in standardizing tax collection, bringing transparency in tax collection and showing full commitment to her job.
Miss Amina Ahmady is fluent in Dari, Pashto, English and Urdu languages.
